Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

No. The quote tool requires six pieces of information: your gender, date of birth, how you'd describe your health, tobacco use status, the amount of coverage you want, and the length of the term. Those answers alone are sufficient to generate carrier rates. Your name, address, and detailed medical history are only needed if you decide to move forward with an application.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

The prices shown are what each carrier has quoted for the underwriting class you selected. After you apply, the carrier will conduct underwriting and may confirm that class, move you to a better one, or assign you a different one. The prices you see here are quotes for comparison purposes only and do not guarantee what you will ultimately be charged. Nothing displayed on this site constitutes an insurance offer or a price guarantee.

What happens when I click Apply?

After you select a quote, you enter your name and the application is generated from that specific quote. The process then continues on the carriers' own secure application platform. You can leave at any time and come back later to finish, and when you sign, it's done electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency (License 0B75129), processes all applications.

Will I need a medical exam?

That depends on which carrier, how much coverage you're applying for, and your personal health information. Many carriers today offer expedited underwriting for eligible applicants, meaning they can make decisions without a paramedical exam. Each quote in the tool tells you whether that carrier will definitely need an exam, might need one, or can decide without one for your situation.

Is a longer term better?

Choose a term length that covers the years when losing your income would create real hardship: paying off a mortgage, supporting children while they're at home, or obligations tied to a business or loan. Longer terms have higher monthly costs but lock in your rate for more years. The quote tool lets you see costs for 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30-year terms all at once so you can decide what makes sense.

Does this site sell my information?

No. The quote tool doesn't ask for your name or contact information, we don't sell or share any data about our visitors, and our measurement system doesn't use cookies. See the privacy page for a complete explanation of what information is collected and who collects it.
